I am sooo sorry I havent written in so long!!! I am really excited school is over next week and this semester definately went faster than the last... Which I am extremely thankful for. Disney cannot come soon enough, well actually, I am going to Disney in a couple of weeks, just for vacation, but I am so excited about going... I am hoping this summer goes as fast as the semster... I mean a semester is 5 months long, I was accepted in Feb so Ive been waiting 3 months and its about 100 days until I actually leave to go to the program... There is SOOO much to do!!! 1) go to summer school 2) get a bigger car 3) get a summer job (richard petty driving experience pleeeaassseeee call me!!!) 4) pack 5)separate my stuff 6) move out of my current appartment..... the list keeps growing!!!!!!!!!!!!! Its really stressful when I actually sit back and think of everything that I need to do between now and Aug 5 when I leave for DISNEY!!
Looking for apartments in a different state, when youve only been to that state once, is really hard. I picked up all of the Apartment Finder books, and went to see about 15 when I was there, but some are too far away or too expensive and its just like ahhhh!!! One complex has everything you need but nothing that you want, or one has hardwood floors and is cheap and near my school, but doesnt have a dog park, swimming pool, or work out room... where as the other ones dont have hardwood, arent near the school, but have a dog park, swimming pool, and work out room. Its hard because Im looking for a place to live, but I would love it to have that community feel. Right now everything is really expensive, so when I am at Disney I have to apply and find an apartment. Its going to be really stressful. Thankfully I have 5 awesome Disney roommates that will help me, hopefully!!!
Lastly, I wanted to give a shout out to my roommate Laura, her mom is in hospital and I just wanted to say stay strong girly!! Im praying for you and your mom!!!

Just Waiting.
So, waiting to go to Disney is almost as hard as the time you wait to find out if you've been accepted. I find it so hard to go to class. I should be going to my Art History class at 11, but I just dont feel like going. Then after Art History, I have American Government, which is so easy, but I just lack the modivation to go! I went to swimming yesterday, because its really important to me, I love swimming, and not to mention, my teacher uses me as an example and as kind of a teaching assistant. Also, even though it's only 1 credit, but its 1 easy credit of A. I am sure if I went to all my classes like I was SUPPOSED to, I couldve gotten straight A's or close this semster. Just for some reason here, at NIU, I have no modivation to do anything. When I get to my new school, I know I will have the modivation, because I will be doing the things that lead up to my degree, I didnt have to take some of the classes this semester, so thats why I am kind of blowing them off. I know it's bad to blow things off and waste money and time, but its hard to get into a class that you dont need for any reason.

One person who has done the program before said that they didnt eat a lot because they didnt have the time or the money to eat a lot and they went to the parks a lot and just all the walking. Also, I need to start organizing my apartment list for North Carolina. It's extremely stressful thinking about all the options available. AHHH!!

It's been SOO long!!
Hi everyone!! I am truely sorry that I havent written in well exactly a month!!! There has been a lot that has happened since then!!! It is 146 days until I start my Disney journey in Orlando, I am so excited and time seems like its going fast, so I hope it keeps going fast.
My birthday is in a week and 6 days. So two weeks from yesterday. I am going to see Alice in Wonderland with my parents. I promised I would go see it with them, so I have been putting it off. I still super excited, because when you go do things with your parents, they are free!! I know that's a bad way to look at it, but movies are expensive these days!! I also am going downtown Chicago with some of my friends and getting a hotel room. It should be tons of fun. My one friend, Nicole, knows a man that is an entertainment director, so he is getting us into this night club called Excalibur. It should be really fun. We are getting the VIP treatment with a VIP booth above the club and also pretty much an open bar all night. I am going to be 25, so it's a big deal I guess.
I have deactivated from my sorority. They did not support me in my future. They did not understand why I wanted to do Disney, and also did not understand why I wanted to transfer schools after attending Disney. To some of those girls, the sorority is their life. They have trouble with remembering that there is a great big beautiful world out there. I applied to the college program after talking with my parents a little and talking with my friend who is in the program right now. I didnt think it was anyone elses business what I wanted to do. The girls in the sorority got mad at me for not talking to them about it. They claimed that I should have involved them, my "friends", in my choice to apply. They think I should have transferred schools and graduated, then applied. Well 1) you have to apply and get accepted before you graduate. 2) I have to complete 3 professional internships with my major at my new school. If I would get offered a job, am I going to turn them down just so that I can go to Disney, no. 3) This would be my only chance to do this program. 4) Why wait to do something that you can do right now.....!!! Real friends will see what you are doing and support you even if they dont agree with what you are doing. It's called, "Don't rain on my parade!!" I think there was some jealousy on their part too.
Laura Metzger and I have found a definate 2 other girls for our apartment. We are still looking for one more pair. We might just leave it all to luck and chance when we get there. We are both so excited!! We talk about how we are going to decorate our bathroom and what small appliances to bring. I am so sad because I have a dog named Bentley and a cat named Vegas, and they both have to stay with my parents until the program is over. I love them with all my heart and I am going to miss them so much!!
I was on spring break last week. I went to Charlotte, NC, and it was so much fun!! It was a quick couple of days. I had several meetings at my new school, Belmont Abbey College. We also looked at about 6 or 7 different apartment complexes. I have to go print out the pictures of each apartment so that I can make some excel spreadsheets and things like that. I have to contact my top choices when I am at Disney so that I can sign a lease online or via snail mail. I am moving right from my apartment at Disney to my apartment in Charlotte. Its going to be so crazy!!! I need to get a GPS so that I know where I am going. We were on the interstate so much in North Carolina that I know my way around pretty well now haha!! I am really excited about attending my new school. My major is going to be Business Management with concentration in Motor Sport Management. My advisor is amazing. She is training with a racing team that races Ford Mustangs. To my readers, if you know a little about racing, Jack Roush is a very big person in racing, he is the owner of Roush racing. I am getting off topic, but she works with the team that Jack Roush's son, Jack Roush Jr. So she has a lot of influence in some pretty big racing avenues.
Well this blog is pretty long, but I do think its a good idea to write only when there is a lot to write about. Writing everyday just seems like it would be a lot of nothings lol. I am so excited about disney and CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME HOW TO MAKE MY BLOG CUTER????

6. What role will you have at Disney?: Lifeguard!!!
7. What are your arrival/departure dates/program (fall, fall advantage, fall quarter)?: Fall 2010. I will arrive August 9, 2010 and depart January 7, 2011.
8. Which apartment complex would you prefer to live at? Patterson or Chatham. They seem to be the nicest, also I am not that much into partying anymore. Vista Way seems like it would always have parties.
9. How many roommates/rooms would you like? (1-7 roommates, 1-4 rooms)?: I would like to have 1 to 5 roommates, so that would be 1 to 3 bedrooms.. I like having a close group of friends. I just feel if there were more than 6 living in an apartment it would be too crazy.
10. Do you like to party? Will you be hosting parties in your apartment?: I dont really like to party all that much. I did a lot of partying here at school being in a greek organization. I am going to Orlando for a Disney Internship not to party, even though I will do a little moderate partying. I would consider hosting a dinner party or a wine party!
11. What's your favorite food, and more importantly, can you cook well?: My favorite food is seafood, thank goodness Disney is in Florida haha, I also love greek food. I do cook extremely well and I also own a lot of cook books.
12. If your friends could describe you in three words what would they be?: Loyal, Caring, and Spontaneous.
13. What kind of music/movies do you like?: I like any kind of music except for rap and country. I do listen to rap and country when the mood calls for it. I like pop and alternative mostly. As for movies, I like anything funny. I dont like movies that make me cry. ET scares me and of course I love Disney movies.
14. Do you smoke, and if so, inside or outside?: I am a non-smoker and I prefer my roommates to be non-smokers as well.
15. Do you drink? (socially or alcoholic): I am a social drinker. I am in a greek organization and I am finding more and more that I am sober at events. I know that I can have fun without the help of alcohol, so I dont really drink a lot anymore.
16. Are you a night person or a morning person?: I can be both. It depends on what is going on during the week and when I work or have a class. I do need a good amount of sleep or I get sick.
17. Are you driving or flying down?: Driving for sure.
18. What do you do for fun?: Swim, tan, relax, go on adventures, hanging out with friends, dancing, taking walks, taking day trips, watching tv and movies, shopping. I cannot wait to go play in the parks, go on hidden mickey hunts, and playing the laying down game.

33. Favorite show? I love the parades and the fireworks and I also like the Laugh Floor.
34. Favorite resort? The Grand Floridian or the Polynesian. I love how when you're in the lifeguard chair at the Polynesian you can see the castle at the Magic Kingdom.
35. Favorite dining? Any food at Disney is good. I really like the character breakfasts and the Rainforest Cafe.

DAY..... 15
Hey guys... so I havent written in 5 days, BUT I've been battling with an outragious cough that I am going to go get checked out today. I think that I have whooping cough, I have all the symptoms and signs, SO I am going to today. All I can think about is Disney. I actually watched the Holiday Wishes Castle Lighting on the wonderful blog, Purple Folder Wait Watchers, and it made me cry. How ridiculous is that? I keep checking my phone every 5 mins since I get email on my blackberry. I have never spent so much time on the computer and checking my phone. BUT somehow I am still getting homework and reading done. Even though I feel like i am doing nothing. This weekend is the Daytona 500 and I am really excited. If I dont get accepted into Disney, I will be going to Belmont Abbey College in North Carolina. My major would be Motor Sport Management, hense why I am excited about the NASCAR race.
Its so hard waiting for Disney.. I am glad that I dont have to go through it alone. My friend, Monica, who has completed the program already, she told me that she waited about 3 weeks, so this week number 2, so I might have another week or so to go. I have receieved 3 thank you emails from Disney, so I wrote an email explaining how I had received the 3 thank yous. The guy wrote back that I shouldn't worry and that it was a glitch in the system and that I would be hearing back from them between 2/22 and 3/9, so that is still 2 weeks away..
saddness... oh well I have to go to class now!!!

Its so hard waiting for Disney.. I am glad that I dont have to go through it alone. My friend, Monica, who has completed the program already, she told me that she waited about 3 weeks, so this week number 2, so I might have another week or so to go. I have receieved 3 thank you emails from Disney, so I wrote an email explaining how I had received the 3 thank yous. Day 10
Dear Everyone,
Today is day 10. I apologize for not blogging for like a week, BUT I've been busy with some random sorority things and homework... SO on Friday some people had received accepted emails already and I was really bummed out that I couldn't share in their excitement... BUT they all interviewed about a week before I did. Also, I noticed that almost everyone was being accepted for Food Services and Merchandise.... The roles I applied for, well, my top 4 were Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique Hostess, Character Attendant, Lifeguard, and Attractions. I also have had sooo much experience in Merchandise that that was my fifth choice. My interviewer asked me if I would be open to that, and OF COURSE I would take Merchandise. I really hope that I get the Hostess, because I have a licensed in cosmetology and I love working with children. I also have a lot of experience in doing little girls hair, make up, and nails. I also have 7 years experience in lifeguarding. I have tons of experience in merchandise, I've worked at Petsmart, Old Navy, Victoria's Secret, Lane Bryant, Torrid, and then back to Lane Bryant.
I am just so nervous about this. I do NOT know why. I was sick during my interview and I wasn't allowed to talk as much as I would have liked to. My interview did last about 20 minutes. I think that is a lot longer than some of the other interviews that I heard about.
Which BY THE WAY!! I AM STILL SICK!!! This sickness WILL NOT go away!!!!!

Day 4!!
Day Number 4 since my interview and I am still sick as ever. It is hard to swallow and breathe.. BUT oh well, thats what I get for living in northern illinois. I cannot wait to hopefully get my purple folder so that I wont get sick anymore from the cold. I didnt go to class today, because it is hard to hear. What is the point of going to class if you cannot hear your professors???? But I went to the doctor and they gave me some medicine for my upper respiratory infection which is always a plus!! Yessssss for medicine!! AND it actually works!! But now I am off to bed to dream in purple!!

Waiting Game...
Ok so today is day 3. I have a blackberry, so all my email accounts are set up and of course everytime I get an email message I freak out. My best friend, Monica, who extended her program keeps telling me not to freak out about it because she knows I did well. I just hate the waiting game. So I keeping my fingers crossed and my patient.

The Start of a Journey
Hi everyone!!
So I started my Disney journey last weekend on January 22. I watched the online presentation, because I could not wait for the recruiters to come to my school. My best friend from my sorority is in the College Program right now. She loves it and told me not to wait and just do the online presentation. So I did and completed the application and did the web interview right away and got my email to call for my phone interview..
I started to get sick on Monday, and I was like oh great. It progressed into a full blown cold. It was so bad!!! I was SOOO lucky to get through what I needed to get through. I kept coughing! I felt so bad for my interviewer, she kept apologizing for making my talk, but I assured her of how much I wanted this so I would keep going.
So now is the time where we sit and wait.....
